Cubs at 3rd Gosport

Summer term at 3rd Gosport is all about getting on the water. Alverstoke creek is a perfect learning environment for getting confident with our kayaks and stand up paddle boards. Outside of summer term we plan a full programme of badge work and other activities. Some examples of what we do at our weekly meetings include:

Star gazing
Night hike
Campfire night
3rd Gosport treck cart. Part of scouting history.

Cubs activity badges

Activity badges help cubs practice a skill they are expert at, or learn something new. They cover a wide range of skills, from reading, to cooking and running. Staged badges show a cub progressing in skils, such as first aid, or kayaking.

Zombie apocolypse surival for first aid badge work
Walking like an astronaut for the space activity badge
Cooking pizza on a fire for backwoods cooking badge

Cubs awards

Challenge Awards are all about stepping outside your comfort zone. Try out something you wouldn’t normally be interested in. Take the lead on something that scares you. Along the way, you’ll unlock hidden talents and stand tall.
